There are many waterfalls during rainy season. In the Jungle while
trekking you will find many varieties Flora and Fauna.
For Spiritual people , there is a Ashram known as Shri Balyogi
Ashram & a Temple of Lord Parashurama known as Tungareshwar
temple.This temple was built in the honour of Lord Parashurama.
Lord Parashurama killed a Demon named " Tunga " at this
place. Lord Parashurama meditated here in this place. It is believed that Adi
Shankaracharya had meditated at a place nearby Shuparak now called Sopara or
Nalasopara
This temple located in Vasai East(Near Sativalli).It is at a
walkable distance from the Sativali bus stop.It merely takes 25 minutes to
reach the temple after entering the main gate .The temple is crowded
during Mahashivratri festival.
Best time to visit it is Rainy Season, because the atmosphere is very cool and it is greenery everywhere full of " Waterfalls "

Nearest Airport : Mumbai (Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj International Airport)
Trek time : 30 to 40 Mins Trekk . Best in Monsoon when it rains one can enjoy while crossing 2 water streams

Tungareshwar Temple is situated on Tungareshwar Road, Thane district, in the state of Maharashtra. It is located at a distance of 34 kms from Thane city.
By Train: Nearest Railway Station is Vasai.
By Bus: Buses are available from Vasai railway station at 15 rs per head till Sativalli ,from the sativali bus stop it is at a walkable distance. It merely takes 25 minutes to reach the temple after entering the main gate
By Autos : From Vasai Railway Station there are Sharing Autos Available for
35 Rs – 40 Rs per head till the base of the starting point of Trekk or Temple.
Food: Many food stalls, eateries options available , alternatively you can carry your own food and ample water .
If you are visiting Tungareshwar temple during Monsoons then please wear a good grip shoes.
To reach Tungareshwar Temple from Pune by road .
1. Pune to Tungareshwar Temple via Mumbai:
- Start from Pune and head towards Mumbai via the Pune-Mumbai Expressway.
- Once you reach Mumbai, continue towards Western Express Highway (WEH).
- From WEH, take the exit towards Ghodbunder Road
(also known as State Highway 42).
- Follow Ghodbunder Road until you reach Vasai.
- From Vasai, Tungareshwar Temple is approximately a 25-30 km drive. You can follow directions from locals or use GPS/navigation apps for the exact route.
Alternatively, you can take a more direct route by avoiding Mumbai:
2. Pune to Tungareshwar Temple via NH 48:
- Start from Pune and head towards NH 48 (Pune-Mumbai Highway).
- Continue on NH 48 until you reach Manor.
- From Manor, take a left turn towards Palghar.
- From Palghar, follow signs or ask locals for directions to Tungareshwar Temple.
Both routes have their pros and cons in terms of traffic and distance. Choose the one that suits your preferences and conditions on the road. Make sure to check for any road closures or diversions before starting your journey, especially if you're traveling during peak hours or monsoon season when there might be more traffic or roadblocks.
